Busy!
Oh So Busy! Thanksgiving. Christmas. New Job. Long Commutes. Apartments away from the wife…
Thats life in a nutshell.
I started a new job (currently contract) at Framatome (AREVA). Its a nuclear services company. They design an build nuclear power plants, etc etc etc, supply nuclear fuel to the U.S. Subs, etc. its top to bottom stuff. I’m not in the Government side so I dont need clearence.
Hoping it goes to a permanant position.
The downside is its in Lynchburg, which is an hour and a half drive from home on a single lane road over mountains going about 10 miles an hour.... Not fun to have 3 hour total commute from home every day…
This leads to the small apartment here in Lynchburg (which has cable internet mmmm)… but it means I spend the week away from my wife which I dont like much at all…
Thanksgiving was interesting. Not sure what it celebrates or why we have to celebrate it. Its not like “America Day” or foundation day or something. Lots of food, and tv apparently.
Sounds exactly like Christmas, except Christmas had no TV for me. (good thing!)
Everyone is moving to Denver.. sigh. so now we want to go out there and be with our friends…
Want to go to Australia for a visit and take the wife to meet the family but I have to apply for a ‘pass’ to leave and re-enter the country or I wont get back it… Of course this costs about 175 dollars to apply for…
