Last week I wanted juice. 100% juice… So we are looking for cranberry juice. I find Cranberry DRINK, Cranberry MIX, Crannberry WITH EXTRA VITAMIN C, etc. but no plain, 100% cranberry juice no bonus shit added..
Yesterday I went looking for 100% apple juice. How hard can that be? Well I found Apple with lots of sugar added, apple with sweetener, apple with extra vitamin C, apple with every other kind of juice, apple with loads of water and extra sugar, but no bloody plain normal apple juice.
Even the milk has extra bloody vitamin c + vitamin d…
WTF CANT I GET PLAIN 100% JUICE???!?!?!?
I dont want EXTRA vitamin C, I dont want EXTRA sugar, I dont want EXTRA water added. I WANT PLAIN UNFIDDLED WITH JUICE…

so I query “so do I have diabetes?” and I get this “well it depends” as an answer? what kind of answer is that??
shesh.
so no health insurance in america for me, anthem blue cross, sheild and knight in soiled armour wont touch me.

So I am trying to get Health Insurance here in america. I had my tests and, on Monday got a letter stating that my blood sugar was high (I didnt fast when I got my initial thing done)… So, ok, I fasted for 13 or 14 hours and yesterday morning went back, got more bloodwork and my Blood Sugar was 1 point less after fasting!! (It was 115, down from 116)…
So.. They ran a diabetes test and sometime today I’ll bother ringing them to find out if I have something or not..
Whats interesting, is the diabetes.org info website says that my number range is ‘pre-diabetes’ (diabetes starts at 126).. And if I am in that range I should exercise more and loose 10-15lbs!
I dont have 10-15lbs to spare.. shessh. I run 2 miles a day, hike, bike, etc. Guess not only couch potatoes and snack-food slobs get it… Maybe if I chop off a leg I can loose 15lbs…
If not 10-15lbs, 5-10% of my body weight.. So me at 135-140lbs.. need to loose… 13-14lbs? hahahahah.

My laptop decided to semi-bork itself, so I have to re-install… Problem being now is that I’m on dialup again! :( So all the updates and things I need to put back on my BSD box are gonna go begging.. ugh. Just when I need to cvsup to current I cant do it…
As for backpacking this weekend, that might be out.. After having lovly 25-30c weather all week and last week, it chooses this weekend to bring the rain and rain/snow showers.. Yep, rain+snow showers… great. Dont really know if I can be bothered to deal with all that just for one night.
In other breaking news, I have managed to keep up with my 2 mile a day jogging. Knees are holding up OK right now, so we will see what time brings on that front.
Havnt touched my roguelike or my compiler/vmx in ages.. Have been doing some little work on my C# stuff which is interesting. I feel I need to put in some good time on my projetcs and into my Ruby code and such-like. I feel I am getting slothful in my programming…
Been looking at mountain bikes all week. They are half the price here compared to england, but what I think “Thats only half the cost in pounds” translates to “Thats 2000usd"… and think “holy crap! The bike I want is 1800 dollars which I dont have” and then think “fuck me, my bike that I sold for peanuts cost me around 2500usd”.
(ach’ this US keyboard has no pound sign and all the keys are in funny places).
oh to be riding again....
Cant wait for Lesley to send me a copy of her wedding on DVD, I am quite looking forward to seeing that…

I have sore knees. I walk funny…
I have been laying carpet in the basement for a few days. Lots of kneeling down on rough-as-sandpaper carpet…
I have also been neglecting my programming stuff, so I have started back on the C#, and this time around I dont quite hate it so much.. Still working on my roguelike too.
Had dinner out last night, boy is outback EXPENSIVE! eyuch. what a rip-off. anyway…
Sounds like next month will make the house here rather busy with Amy coming home to stay for a month or so..
I dont think I will be going down to Trail Days this year either. Too much work on the logistics front.
I need to think about lunch.

So I am back in the USA! Made it through customs with ease (nobody else was in the immigration office besides me, so I had my pick of the three guys on the desk).
We are having beautiful weather right now, very warm, bordering on hot! aaaaaaaah its great…
good to be back with Joy again.
